Description
Small lucky charms to wear. In Sicilian tradition, in fact, the pine cone is a symbol of immortality and vital energy, but also of fertility and regenerative force.
For this reason, throughout the island, ceramic pine cones often stand on the balconies and pillars of the entrance gates of ancient villas and noble gardens.
Earrings and necklaces thus become talismans to wear, the perfect idea for oneself or to give as a gift to someone special.
Each piece in the collection is made strictly by hand in all its phases, from the study and design of the model, to its creation and decoration, to the selection of finishes and stones.
Donna Pidda reinterprets the Sicilian traditional icons (majolica tiles, pine cones, bullheads, prickly pear shovels and cart wheels) to bring to life vibrant and whimsical bijoux that lend a touch of typically Sicilian “warmth/colour” to any look. A collection that translates the colours and material of our land giving the wearer the opportunity not only to have a unique piece but also to take a piece of Sicily with them.
Techniques: Each clay piece is shaped, air-dried, smoothed, decorated with acrylic colours and polished with water-based paint.
