Description
A series of key rings inspired by the colourful Sicilian majolica, the precious hand-decorated tiles that lined the floors of the island’s most beautiful villas and sumptuous aristocratic palaces.
Each majolica contains an exotic charm due to the transit through Sicily of different populations and traditions that over the centuries allowed local ceramists to develop a unique style by reworking techniques and decorative motifs from all over the world.
Each piece is made strictly by hand in all its phases, from the study and design of the model, to its creation and decoration, to the selection of finishes and stones.
Donna Pidda reinterprets the icons of the Sicilian tradition (majolica, pine cones, blackberry heads, prickly pear shovels and cart wheels) to give life to lively and imaginative accessories that give a touch of typically Sicilian ‘warmth/colour’ to every look.
A collection that translates the colours and material of our land, giving the wearer the opportunity not only to have a unique piece but also to take a piece of Sicily with them.
Techniques: Each piece in polymer clay is modelled, fired in the oven, smoothed, decorated with acrylic colours and polished with a special polish.
